299 Union membership

Both producers and directors are capable of being members of the Broadcasting Entertainment Cinematograph and Theatre Union (BECTU). Membership of the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain is also open to directors who are screenwriters, and the provisions of the BECTU/PACT Specialised Production Agreement also recognise the fact that many directors write screenplays for industrial films and the other productions covered by that agreement.
