1: ENGAGEMENT OF ACTORS

292 General

The British Actors’ Equity Association (Equity) has an agreement for the production of cinema films and television films with the Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television (PACT). Pursuant to the Employment Act 1990, PACT members are no longer required to engage only members of Equity, and non-Equity members may now be engaged by a production company without the need to notify or obtain the consent of Equity. The Equity agreement does not apply to persons who have been engaged to appear as themselves who are not regarded by the agreement
