241 Transfer of data outside the EEA

The convergence and globalisation of businesses, particularly in the technology, media and telecommunications sector, with business increasingly being conducted over the Internet, means that personal data is likely to be processed by non-European entities within the European Economic Area (EEA) more often and that personal data relating to European nationals is likely to be transferred outside the EEA more frequently.
