23 Brazil: term of protection

The term of copyright protection is 70 years from 1 January in the year following the death of the author1 or, in the case of a work of joint authorship, the last surviving author2. In the case of an anonymous work, the term is 70 years from 1 January in the year following first publication3. For audio-visual works and photographic works the term of protection is 70 years from 1 January in the year following their ‘disclosure’4.
