22 Brazil: economic rights

Under Law No. 9.610, the author of a copyright work has the exclusive right to derive benefit from that work and to dispose of it1. There are ten economic rights provided by law in relation to any copyright work2, namely:

  1. 22.1

        the right of complete or partial reproduction;

  2. 22.2

        the right of publication;

  3. 22.3

        the right of adaptation, setting to music or any other transformation;

  4. 22.4

        the right of translation into any language;

  5. 22.5

        the right of incorporation into a phonogram or an audio-visual production;

  6. 22.6

        the right of distribution other than any specific right granted
