6: DURATION OF ECONOMIC RIGHTS IN PERFORMANCES

197 Duration of performers’ property rights and performers’ non-property rights

The term of protection of performers’ property rights and performers’ non-property rights (including the rights of persons having recording rights) expires at the end of the period of 50 years from the end of the calendar year in which the performance takes place1.

If, however, before the end of this 50-year period a recording of the performance other than a sound recording is released, the term of protection is extended and expires 50 years from the end of the calendar year in which the recording
