157 Permitted acts in relation to copyright and database right generally

The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 specifies, in Sections 28 to 76, a number of acts (described in the legislation as ‘permitted acts’) which may be carried out in relation to copyright works and databases which do not infringe the copyright of the work or the database right in the database1. Where the legislation provides that a particular act does not infringe copyright, or may be carried out without infringing copyright, without mentioning any particular description
