134 Duration of copyright in existing works (British and foreign) protected on 1 January 1996 generally

For the purpose of determining the duration of copyright protection following the implementation of the Duration of Copyright and Rights in Performances Regulations 1995 and the Copyright and Related Rights Regulations 1996, in many cases it will be necessary only to refer to the 1988 Act as amended by those Regulations. As the regulations expressly preserve the 1988 Act provisions for existing copyright works, it is likely that the former provisions will continue to be relevant for some time to come,
