126 Authorship, first ownership joint ownership and co-ownership of copyright and database right

The word ‘author’, when used in relation to a work, means the person who creates it1. In the case of a sound recording the author is the producer, and in the case of a film the joint authors are the producer and the principal director2. The producer of a film or sound recording is the person by whom the arrangements necessary for the making of the film or sound recording were undertaken3.
