102 Financial support directions

The Pensions Act 2004 provides that the Pensions Regulator can, in certain circumstances, issue a financial support direction, requiring the recipient to put in place arrangements to guarantee the pensions liabilities of an employer which is insufficiently resourced to do so itself, or which is a ‘service company’1. These provisions do not apply to a money purchase scheme, nor to prescribed schemes2.
