85 Rights under nineteenth century Acts relating to commons

The Metropolitan Commons Act 1866 provided for rights of access to named commons. General provision was made for the making of byelaws to regulate public access and for the management of commons.

The Commons Acts of 1876 and 1899 made provision for district councils to make schemes regulating commons within their districts and providing for public access.
