81 Appropriation for allotments

No land may be appropriated for allotments1 if it forms part of a metropolitan common2 or is subject to regulation under an order or scheme made in pursuance of the Inclosure Acts or any local Acts or otherwise, or forms part of any town or village green, or is a public park, garden or pleasure ground3. Nor can such land be acquired by a council or the Secretary of State except under the authority of a compulsory purchase order which must be confirmed by Parliament.
