70 Other general Acts providing special procedureAlthough most modern Acts conferring powers of acquisition by compulsory purchase order apply the procedure provided by the Acquisition of Land Act 19811, there are certain Acts to which the Acquisition of Land Act 1981 does not apply and which provide their own procedure for acquisition2. The Compulsory Purchase Act 1965 applies to acquisitions under all these Acts3, so that the consent of the Secretary of State under the Commons Act 18994 may also have to be obtained.
