52 Need for consent for restricted works

The carrying out of restricted works on common land without consent of the Secretary of State1, is prohibited under the Commons Act 2006 Section 382—which replaces the provisions formerly contained in the Law of Property Act 1925 Section 1943. Restricted works are those which prevent or impede access, or for the resurfacing of land4. This applies to registered common land and land which is not registered as common land but which is5:
