29 Dedication of land as town or village green

The owner of any land may apply to the commons registration authority to register the land as a town or village green1. There is no need to show 20 years’ qualifying use by the local inhabitants.

If the land is let for a term of more than seven years from the date on which the lease was granted, the tenant must consent2.

The proprietor of any charge over the land must also consent. Where land is registered in the register of title this means a registered charge
