18 The register under the Commons Act 2006

Part 1 of the Commons Act 20061 provides for commons registration authorities to continue to keep registers of common land and town and village greens (‘the commons registers’)2. Existing registers under the Commons Registration Act 1965 will be rolled over and become registers under the Commons Act 2006. In the future, registers will be kept up to date by providing that certain events will have legal effect only if registered in accordance with the Act.
