8 Uses of commonhold

Commonhold ownership may be used in a variety of situations. The most obvious use is by owner-occupiers of flats or maisonettes. But commonhold ownership may also be used where any land or building has common parts and/or the individual units receive services and enjoy amenities together, or where rights or obligations are shared between owners. In principle, where the degree of interdependence is substantial enough to justify an independent service provider, even a service provider owned or controlled by the owners of the units, the use of commonhold should be considered.
