34 Liability for extinguished leases

There is statutory provision for the lessee of an extinguished lease to recover in certain cases the loss resulting from its extinction.

A lessee whose consent was required to registration of the land as commonhold, and who did not consent, may apply to the court for a declaration that the land should not have been registered as commonhold, and in those proceedings the court has power to award compensation1.
