114 Development business

114.1 General

A commonhold community statement may confer on the developer rights to carry on ‘development business’. The Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 and regulations made under it define ‘development business’ and set out the permitted extent of the developer’s rights in respect of ‘development business’1.

Commonly, no doubt, the required rights will be inserted in the commonhold community statement at the outset. But the commonhold community statement can be amended later to include development rights or to vary them.
