11 What is commonhold?

Commonhold is a system of ownership of land or buildings divided horizontally or vertically into separate parts; the commonhold system of ownership is introduced by Part 1 of the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 and regulations made under that Act. Commonhold land must be registered at the Land Registry.
