293 Right to unwind a consumer payment

A consumer has the right to unwind in respect of a consumer payment for a product1 if the consumer was not required to make all or part of the payment2. In such a case, the consumer has the right to receive back from the trader:

  1. 293.1

        the same amount of money as the consumer paid to the trader; or

  2. 293.2

        in a case where the consumer was required to make part of the payment, an amount equal to the part of the payment that the consumer was not required
