278 What a service provider must do when an order is being placed

Unless a consumer has agreed otherwise, a service provider must:

  1. 278.1

        acknowledge receipt of the order without undue delay and by electronic means; and

  2. 278.2

        make available to the consumer appropriate, effective and accessible technical means to identify and correct input errors prior to the placing of the order1.

A service provider is not required to provide the receipt or to make the technical means available where a contract is concluded exclusively by electronic mail2.
