177 Right to repair or replacement

177.1 Obligation on trader to carry out repair or replacement

When the consumer has the right to a repair1 or to a replacement2, and requires that a trader repairs or replaces goods, then the trader must:

  1. 177.1.1

        carry out the selected remedy within a reasonable time3; and

  2. 177.1.2

        not cause significant inconvenience to the consumer4; and

  3. 177.1.3

        pay any necessary costs (such as that of labour, materials and postage)5.
