158 Ownership of goods

Ownership of goods means the general property in goods, not only a special property1. To determine when ownership in goods is transferred, the following provisions of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 continue to apply:

  1. 158.1

        goods must be ascertained (Sale of Goods Act 1979 Section 16);

  2. 158.2

        property in goods passes when it is intended to pass (Sale of Goods Act 1979 Section 17);

  3. 158.3

        the rules for ascertaining intention (Sale of Goods Act 1979 Section 18);
