147 Does the Sale of Goods Act 1979 still apply to consumer contracts?1

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 excludes specific provisions of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 from applying to consumers, as well as deleting other provisions in that Act which referred specifically to consumers. This amendment of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 does leave other provisions in that Act which do not specifically refer to consumer contracts at all.

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 itself indicates that certain provisions of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (relating to when ownership in goods is transferred) continue to apply2:
