14 Main contractual situations where particular form of writing required

14.1 Contracts for the sale of land

A contract for sale or disposition of an interest in land must:

  1. 14.1.1

        be in writing;

  2. 14.1.2

        be signed by all the parties (or on their behalf);

  3. 14.1.3

        incorporate all the terms that the parties have expressly agreed in one document (if contracts are exchanged, in each of them); and

  4. 14.1.4

        set out the terms in a document (or by making reference to another document).
