15 Liability and the rules

In the absence of registration (for example under the Friendly Societies Act 1974) or incorporation, a club does not have a separate legal entity. The rights and liabilities connected with membership arise between each member and his fellow members and, with regard to third parties, a liability incurred on behalf of the club is the liability of the member incurring it1. Careful attention should therefore be given to the drafting of rules:
