76 Divestment

The official custodian’s former function of holding charity investments other than land was withdrawn by the Charities Act 19921, and now remains only with respect to charities where, because there has been misconduct or mismanagement or where the charity’s property is thought to require protection, the Charity Commission decides to vest the property in the official custodian for safe keeping2.
