208 Vesting land in the official custodian for charities

Where a charity is unincorporated and the trustees are individuals who have not been incorporated under the Charities Act 2011 Part 121, it may be appropriate for the trustees to consider applying to the Charity Commission for an order vesting the charity’s land in the official custodian for charities2. If land is being acquired, particularly if the purchase is to be authorised by order, it is possible to initiate the procedure for vesting in advance of completion.
