72 Right to assistance by air carriers

Air carriers are obliged, at no additional charge to the disabled person or person with reduced mobility, by Council Regulation (EC) 1107/2006 to provide the following assistance1:

  1. 72.1

        carriage of recognised assistance dogs in the cabin (subject to national regulations);

  2. 72.2

        transport of medical equipment plus two pieces of mobility equipment per disabled person or person with reduced mobility (subject to 48 hour advance warning, possible limitations of space on board the aircraft and application of relevant legislation concerning dangerous goods);

  3. 72.3

        communication of essential information concerning the flight in accessible formats;

  4. 72.4
