4.2 Statutory provisions–consumer contracts

Carriers acting in the course of a business who deal with consumers are subject to the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This applies to a wide range of transactions, and provides a very high level of protection for the consumer. Many of the terms implied by this statute cannot be excluded or modified by the trader. Where modification, exclusion or limitation are permitted, the overriding principle is that the provisions must still be fair to the consumer in all the circumstances.
