The tax regime provides incentives for parties who wish to invest in small businesses by allowing them to obtain income tax relief on any loans they may take out to finance the investment. The relief applies to a loan taken out by an individual in order to finance the purchase of a share in a partnership, however small the share, or to lend to a partnership1.
