167.3 The key concepts of the Act: protected characteristics

The protected characteristics are contained in the Equality Act 2010 Part 2 and Schedule 1 and consist of the characteristics which are protected and the definitions of the various types of discrimination, harassment and victimisation.

The characteristics which are protected by the Act are1:
