Another way of finding staff is to approach an employment agency with a view to taking on agency workers. This practice is particularly prevalent in the construction industry, but it can also be found in other fields, for instance the provision of private sector nursing and caring services, and temporary secretarial services. For example, it may be convenient to take on an agency secretary to cover when a permanent secretary is on holiday or ill.
