143 Some sources of government and other finance for small businesses

143.1 Government grants and support

At present, the government is offering or supporting following types of equity funding, inter alia:

  1. 143.1.1

        enterprise capital funds1;

  2. 143.1.2

        the Aspire Fund2, and

  3. 143.1.3

        the UK Innovation Investment Fund3.

In addition, the aspiring entrepreneur may be able to obtain a grant to cover at least part of the total costs involved in setting up the business.
