G: DISINTERMENT OF BODIES

33 Authority for disinterment

It is an offence for a body or any human remains that have been interred in a place of burial to be removed, unless1:

  1. 33.1

        in the case of consecrated ground, the body is or remains are removed in accordance with a faculty2 granted by the court3;

  2. 33.2

        in the case of the precinct of a cathedral, the body is or remains are removed in accordance with the approval of a proposal under the Care of Cathedrals Measure 2011 by the Cathedrals Fabric Commission for England or by a fabric advisory committee4
