80 Age limits for directors

The rules of a building society may require its directors to retire at a prescribed age without eligibility for re-election or reappointment1.

Where the age prescribed in the rules is greater than the normal retirement age2, a person who has attained the normal retirement age for directors will not be eligible for election as a director of a building society unless he has been approved as eligible for election by resolution of the board of directors, and his age and the reasons for the board’s approval of his eligibility have been
