69 Resolutions

There are four categories of resolution which may be passed by the members of a building society: ordinary resolutions, special resolutions1, borrowing members’ resolutions2 and shareholding members’ resolutions3.

An ordinary resolution may be passed either at a meeting or on a postal ballot and, at a meeting, it may be passed either on a show of hands or on a poll4. An ordinary resolution is passed by a simple majority of the members entitled to vote5 and voting on it.
