69.3 Shareholding members’ resolutions

A shareholding members’ resolution is required by the Building Societies Act 1986 in connection with mergers and transfers of business1. No resolution of a building society may be passed as a shareholding members’ resolution unless it is required to be so passed by or under any provision of the Building Societies Act 1986 or by the rules of the society2. A resolution is a shareholding members’ resolution if it has been passed by not less than three-quarters of the number of the shareholding members3 of the society qualified to vote4
