26 Change of name

A building society may change its name by special resolution1. If it does so, it must send notice of the change to the central office2 and, unless the central office is of the opinion that the changed name is undesirable, it must register the notice of change of name and give the society a certificate of registration3. The central office must keep a copy of the certificate of registration in the society’s public file4. The change of name takes effect on the date on which the certificate of registration
