18 Rules

The rules1 of a building society must provide for certain specified matters2. These are:

  1. 18.1

        the building society’s name and the address of its principal office3;

  2. 18.2

        the manner in which its stock or funds is or are to be raised4;

  3. 18.3

        the manner in which the terms are to be determined on which shares are to be issued, and the manner in which shareholders are to be informed of changes in the terms on which their shares are held5;

  4. 18.4

        whether any preferential or deferred shares6 are to be issued and, if so, within what limits7;
