G: DISSOLUTION AND WINDING UP

171 General

A building society may be dissolved by consent of the members or may be wound up voluntarily or by the court in accordance with the provisions of the Building Societies Act 19861. Dissolution may therefore be by one of the following methods: by an instrument of dissolution2; by a voluntary winding up3; by a winding-up order made by the court4; or by a dissolution following an amalgamation, a transfer of engagements or a transfer of business to a commercial company5.
