126 Remedying defects

Where the Financial Services Authority (FSA) would be precluded from confirming a merger by reason of any of the defects specified in the merger confirmation criteria1, it may direct any building society concerned to take such steps as it specifies in the direction2. Where the FSA would be precluded from confirming a transfer of business by reason of any of the defects specified in the transfer confirmation criteria3, it may direct the society making the transfer to take such steps as it specifies in the direction4.
