173 Pre-Action Protocol

The Pre-Action Protocol for Construction and Engineering Disputes sets out the steps which parties should take before commencing an action in the courts1. Its objectives are to encourage exchange of early and full information, enable parties to avoid litigation by agreeing settlements before commencement of proceedings and to support efficient management of proceedings where litigation cannot be avoided2.
