71.1 Operative clauses

An operative clause defines the main obligation of the parties to an agreement. As with the other precedents in this title, the operative clauses provided may be compared with other clauses or used in contracts or agreementsthe clauses found elsewhere in this title tend to amplify and expand these main operative clauses.

Some types of commercial agreement, such as those setting up joint ventures, frequently do not have an operative clause, and in many types of agreement it is not essential to have
