70.1 Bribery Act 2010

The Bribery Act 2010 covers bribery carried out by a person himself (this will also extend to an organisation), or where someone else caries out the bribery for or on behalf of the person (be it an employee or a third party, such as a contractor). It is the latter which will be the focus of this section.

The Bribery Act 2010 makes substantial changes to the law covering bribery. It introduces specific offences for giving or receiving a bribe as well as bribing a foreign public
