63.1 Control of announcements

Contracting parties sometimes wish to control how, and to what extent, information is released to the outside world about an existing agreement or negotiations to enter into an agreement. A public announcement, although not required by law, may be beneficial to the parties involved, such as the announcement or results of a joint venture or a merger or successful development of a new product or service. The timing and method of announcement may need careful handling so as not to adversely impact on their respective business. For example:
