59.2 Title and risk in sales with international element

If contracts involve goods being exported, parties often agree to allocate risk and title using a series of standard terms set out in INCOTERMS, published by the International Chamber of Commerce. The latest version of INCOTERMS is the eighth 2010 edition. Besides title and risk, INCOTERMS address a number of other areas such as: risk of loss and who is responsible for obtaining insurance; obtaining import/export licences; where the seller is to make delivery; and what notice period must be given by the seller that delivery has taken place.
