40.2 Appointment of agents

A clause for the appointment of a sole selling agent might read as follows:

‘The Principal hereby appoints the Agent as its sole agent in [the [specify] postal area] for the sale of all goods manufactured or dealt with by the Principal, and the Agent accepts the appointment. Subject to earlier termination under clause [number], the appointment shall be for an initial period of 5 years from the Commencement Date and thereafter will continue until the appointment shall be determined by 6 calendar months’ notice in writing.’
