10.2 Usual interpretation provisions

10.2.1 Format of interpretation clause

Interpretation provisions are usually:

  1. (a)

        combined with the definitions of terms used in the agreement under the heading ‘Definitions and Interpretation’ (but the two should not be confused); or

  2. (b)

        placed at the end of the agreement under a ‘general heading’ with other standard boilerplate clauses.

The usual interpretation provisions deal with the matters discussed in the following Paragraphs.
